Do I have to buy any merchandise from you before I sell it?
No. That's the beauty of Operation Dropship. Dropshipping not only gives you the financial freedom of not purchasing or carrying inventory before a guaranteed sale, but we also provide you with products and descriptions without ever having to have the product in hand. Of course once you receive your first sale you will already have the money on hand to purchase the product directly from us, thus never having to risk any of your own money or time.
Do I need to have a business license and/or seller's permit?
It depends. If you are working with the suppliers on our drop shipper list, then most of them will want proof that you have a legitimate business, so you will need to provide them with your business license number or Tax ID number. If you are ordering individual products from our warehouse, you will not need to provide us with that documentation, although it is a good idea to obtain and legalize your business and you can usually do that quickly, easily, and cheaply.
How do I determine shipping charges?
Shipping charges are usually calculated by the actual cost that the carrier charges and for your time to process the order. You can give your customers several shipping different options like US Priority Mail, UPS Ground, 2nd Day Air, FedEx Overnight, etc. and then calculate beforehand how much you want to charge for each. Make sure that you only offer the options that your supplier offers. If you have several different suppliers that offer different shipping method(s) keep it simple and only offer the shipping methods that all of your suppliers work with, or you could even just charge a standard fee based on the price or weight of the item. Keep in mind, however, to limit your shipping fees. Excessive shipping fees are against eBay policy and could be potentially harmful to your online business. Always be fair and honest in your calculations.
Do you ship internationally?
No, We dropship to the United States and Canada only. However many of the suppliers from our dropship supplier list do have the option to shipping internationally. Get to know each of your suppliers and how they like to do business, keep in mind that with international sales comes higher shipping fees and greater risk. If you really would like to sell products from our dropship warehouse or from other suppliers that do not offer international shipments, you can always have them ship the product to you – and you can ship it wherever in the world you'd like.
Is there a drop shipping fee per order?
It depends. We don't mark up any charges – we charge you exactly what the dropshipper charges. Most dropshippers we work with will charge a $4 dropship fee for their labor and overhead. You can pass this on to your customers by adding the cost to the product, or by charging them a handling fee. Some of our suppliers do not charge a dropship fee, in which case we won't charge you. On the product description page is listed all charges, including any dropship fees and shipping fees you are to incur.
How do I calculate the amount I pay Operation Dropship, and the amount that I keep?
You will pay us the wholesale price listed on the product description page as well as the shipping and drop ship fees. All these costs will be passed on to your customers – you will markup the product to retail cost, charge the customer the shipping fee, and charge the dropship fee as a ‘handling charge' or add it to the cost of the product. The amount you keep is the amount you collected from your customer minus the amount you pay to us. Make sure you price your products so you're always making a profit.
Can I change the price of the products?
We sell all of our products to you at the wholesale price. You are free to sell the product at any price you choose. In most cases we will however give you the MSRP (suggested retail price) as a guideline that will help you decide the best and most profitable price to sell your products. You may choose to offer the suggested retail, premium (higher), or even reduced (lower) prices for whatever you sell.
Where do I find supplier return policies?
The return policies vary based on each supplier. You can find the return policies on the product description page under the ‘information’ tab next to the product description. This tab will give the return and shipping policy for that specific product and supplier.
How do I figure out if my product is in stock?
Most of our suppliers update us daily, and even hourly, of their product quantities through a data feed. However, some of our suppliers' inventory changes quickly, and in order to provide the most accurate product availability, we suggest that you check your products’ availability often especially before you place each order.
If I sell through online auctions, how do I know you won't run out of stock?
You can use the "Watch Inventory" function on your Dashboard page to keep close tabs on the inventory levels of the products that you choose. As long as the inventory levels are high enough, the item should remain safely in stock. If the inventory levels are low, then it's probably best to buy the product before you sell it, then you are sure that you have the merchandise in-hand, ready and available for purchase.
What happens if I don't sell the item I've listed on eBay?
Nothing. Since you don't have to purchase the product from us before you've sold it, then you don't owe us a cent. If your listings finish and someone has purchased the item, you must go to our Warehouse and add the item to your cart and checkout (make sure the "Ship To" address is the address of your customer – not you.) Only if you've ordered the item from our warehouse will you be charged. If it doesn't sell, then you don't order it, and you are not charged.
How long does it take to receive an order?
Each dropshipper is unique, so shipping times will vary. Typically, your order will be processed and shipped within a few days. With Operation Dropship you are able to watch your order as it is processed, shipped (with tracking numbers when provided by the supplier) and received by your customer.
How do I change my username or password?
Once you have logged into your Operation Dropship account, you may click on the "My Account" button located at the bottom of the page. Once you are on this page you may reset your password.
How do I change the credit card information I have entered?
You can change your credit card information by logging into your Operation Dropship account and clicking on the ‘My Account’ button at the bottom of the page. You can edit your credit card information under the ‘Billing Information’ section on the page.
